Charite (all Campi)
Humboldt University
Free University
Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB)
Max Planck Institut fuer Bildungsforschung (MPIB)
Equipment
Members of the BNIC operate several MRI systems for whole body human studies (3 T, 1.5 T) and animal studies (7T). Furthermore, several MEG systems (PTB), EEGs, and optical imaging instruments both for animal work as well as for human studies are available.
Science
Work at the BNIC includes research on neurophysiological and clinical issues motivated by the various member institutions. There is a close interaction especially with stroke research within the
Center for Stroke Research Berlin (CSB).
There are five methodologically oriented core groups of the BNIC which focus on cutting edge developments in the fields of MR, MEG/EEG, and optics. One overall focus is the development of techniques for bedside use.
